Fall Days

All’s been quiet around these parts since the hubla of Halloween, and that’s just fine by me!! I must admit that Nico’s costume was a little too time-consuming, and I’ve spent the last week just catching up on everything that got neglected for knitting.

And it’s not only made me rethink my knitted gift ideas for Christmas, but also it’s made me lose all interest in NaNoWriMo. I know, I know, seven days into the month and I’ve already given up. I even toyed with the idea of having a personal goal of writing 25,000 words (a half-WriMo if you will) but that seemed unappealing to me. The whole point of NaNoWriMo is to have a novel at the end of the month (50,000 words is roughly 175 pages). I’ve written lots and lots of shorter things in my day (either for fun or for school) and I just don’t feel the desire to contribute more disjointed snippets of writing to an already overwhelming pile of paper. (don’t I do enough of that with this blog?? haha)

So my great novel will have to wait for another time. Meanwhile, I’m focusing solely on what’s important – my baby.

He’s getting old now (at 7 weeks) and I feel I need to start figuring out his routine. Knowing when he can expect to sleep, be bathed, have play time, etc, will contribute to his overall happiness, I think. Also, we’re still working out the kinks in breastfeeding. (don’t worry, he’s gaining good weight, as much as 11oz in one week. We just still have minor poop issues to resolve).

But we’re having a great time enjoying the unseasonably warm weather, going out for walks, eating great food (either made at home, or by our folks, or by the wonderful people at Art-Is-In Bakery) and yucking it up with Enzo…
